RDP Friday: When War Roared and Sirens Sounded

Today’s prompt from Martha is Fierce, which usually comes with extreme behaviour in either a good, but mostly in a bad way. World War II was full of aggressive behaviour, but also fierce bravery. Below is the Anderson Shelter that was provided during this difficult and fierce period for people in the UK.

Monochrome Madness – A different Wheel

This week, Leanne is prompting us with a free choice topic for Monochrome Madness, but her choice is a carousel, and I also saw a photo of a SkyWheel, so I decided to go in a similar direction with the King Arthur Round Table displayed in Winchester Great Hall

Historical walk trough Veliko Tarnovo

My response to today’s Which Way Challenge by Deb is this peaceful street of Veliko Tarnovo, I visited more than 10 years ago.

Victorian Kitchen Window

In response to PR’s Monday Window (yes, I know it is Wednesday 😂), I chose the window below from the Tudor house in Southampton. I love these Victorian kitchens, always a balm for my eyes.

Calling you out

Tired of rowing, they fell asleep.

The storm grew wild.

It took just a moment, and they were trapped.

Surrounded by water,

Sudden fear was controlling their lives.

As if the rain washed away the faith

From their hearts,

As if the darkness of the night

Took away their sight.

Nothing, just fear and doubts.

They were not even able to recognise

The One, walking on the water.

Who just some moments ago,

Performed such a miracle,

Feeding the crowd, not only by word.

All they can see is a ghost,

A flash of light, and there is nowhere to hide.

If you just had a little faith,

Opened the eyes of your heart.

You would feel, you would know,

The One walking on the water,

Is the One sent by God.

And when He calls upon your name,

To step out of the boat and walk in faith

Walking on the water with a stretched hand,

In that moment when doubts paralyze you,

You are sinking, and you believe you are losing your life,

He grabs you by your arm

As a loving father who is desperate to save his son.

Inspired by Matthew 14:22-33

These Battles Are Not Mine

Hands lifted high, eyes piercing the sky,

I know, You are all around,

But my eyes are just piercing the sky.

You are embracing me with Your love,

You are fighting my fight,

Giving me strength I would never find,

If I didn’t give it to You, all.

All the pain, all the doubts, my past,

All those words breaking my heart.

Hands lifted high, lips praising Your name,

I know these battles are not mine.

By your grace, I was saved.

Whatever shall cross my path,

With my hands lifted high

And trusting You with all my life,

You are leading me, You are my light.

These battles are not mine.

My life is Yours.

There is no more darkness in my heart.

My lips are praising Your name.

With my hands lifted high,

I can feel your presence.

I know, these battles are not mine.
