Monochrome Madness – A different Wheel

This week, Leanne is prompting us with a free choice topic for Monochrome Madness, but her choice is a carousel, and I also saw a photo of a SkyWheel, so I decided to go in a similar direction with the King Arthur Round Table displayed in Winchester Great Hall

Calling you out

Tired of rowing, they fell asleep.

The storm grew wild.

It took just a moment, and they were trapped.

Surrounded by water,

Sudden fear was controlling their lives.

As if the rain washed away the faith

From their hearts,

As if the darkness of the night

Took away their sight.

Nothing, just fear and doubts.

They were not even able to recognise

The One, walking on the water.

Who just some moments ago,

Performed such a miracle,

Feeding the crowd, not only by word.

All they can see is a ghost,

A flash of light, and there is nowhere to hide.

If you just had a little faith,

Opened the eyes of your heart.

You would feel, you would know,

The One walking on the water,

Is the One sent by God.

And when He calls upon your name,

To step out of the boat and walk in faith

Walking on the water with a stretched hand,

In that moment when doubts paralyze you,

You are sinking, and you believe you are losing your life,

He grabs you by your arm

As a loving father who is desperate to save his son.

Inspired by Matthew 14:22-33

RDP Sunday: exacerbate

In response to drkottaway prompt Exacerbate

And the angels were crying

when Your time on the earth came into the end

The sudden darkness fell upon us

The earth shook and the veil was torn

Cracks in the ground and in our hearts

Not understanding your sacrifice.

You gave your all to save the world.

And the angels were crying

By your last breath and words.

Poems for flowers #14

You were so shy this morning,

just looking at me without words.

And I am so glad for the fresh breeze,

giving you that little push,

when you gently touched my arm.

Having your head on my shoulder now,

just feels nice.

You were shy this morning,

but that little push made you mine.

You can add your little drop to a huge stream that is changing people’s life around the globe

Thought for the Month:

A well-read Bible is a sign of a well-fed soul. — Anonymous

The Bible, commonly referred to as God’s Word or Scripture, is our guidebook as Christ followers, and it’s a key component for helping us walk more closely with Jesus. While it may not instantly answer all our questions, it does give us insight and wisdom about who God is, how to manage our relationships, how to live with purpose, and of course how to receive eternal life.

We know we probably should read the Bible more often, but that can feel daunting. Sometimes it feels like the Bible just has so much in it that we feel like we ought to know. But the key to unlocking the power of God’s Word in our lives has more to do with renewing our minds about our relationship with it. Reading the Bible isn’t a chore, some task we need to check off. The God who created the universe has invited us to approach Him, to come and experience His presence, to listen to His stories and to understand His character. And, just as we do with our friends, it’s in the time that we invest enjoying one another that we truly get to know each other.

How does it affect our lives if we don’t read the Bible regularly? The truth is, we may not feel a big difference at first when we miss a day. It’s kind of like taking medicine for a chronic illness — we may not feel the medicine doing its work when we take it every day. But if we stop taking it, our sickness will eventually completely overtake us. We may not always feel like God’s Word is affecting us, but if we remove it from our daily walks with Jesus, we’ll notice how starved our spirits become.

I love what I get to be part of on the YouVersion Localization Team – and I think you would, too! Join us in helping people all over the world engage with God’s Word! https://www.youversion.com/volunteers/
