Coffee and old libraries scent

In response to the Poetry 101 Rehab with the word prompt MISSING

Coffee and old libraries scent

Sometimes I miss words

going down on my knees.

Sometimes I miss sun

covered by heavy clouds.

Sometimes I miss your smile

when your eyes are wet by tears.

Sometimes I miss ideas

when challenges are crossing my life.

But I’m always missing the scent

of morning coffee mixed with the old libraries.

  1. Lovely words. I miss the old libraries, myself. I practically lived in them for years.

    • Thanks a lot Lizl! I had my great library before I moved from Europe (more than 500 titles) and I miss it a lot. Also loved to spend my time at the old library in my birth town. After the library has moved to a new building it was so different and I missed something… I missed the scent and the old rooms.

  2. Just love that last line “morning coffee mixed with the old libraries.” Thank you for contributing to the ‘Rehab”
