19th century architecture – Vlkolinec village – most of the houses were built in 1875, the bell tower was built in 1770

Once upon a time there was a village
where the life was simple and calm,
where the candles were shining
on tables during the dinner time.
Where bread and potato was a gift,
honored were the hands preparing it.
Where prayer was spoken before the first bite.
That was a beautiful and blessed time.

Trencin – my home town
You were the first to listen to my loud cry,
my crib, the place where I was born, but you didn’t see me grow up.
I have been thirty years away
and coming back to you I realised you were changed,
but so did I.
I spent some more years with you the second time,
until I found my new home far far away.
But I will never forget,
you were my crib and I will always come back,
to the place where I took my very first breath.
